Thoughts?/Dicuss.

I did not include the Wii because we know the Wii is winning.

That's all good and well, but with the new price drop and jump in sales, I think the Xbox 360 will come out first by years end. With that said, I don't play sales, I play games.[2008 Console Sales Numbers] Xbox 360 V ...

It'll be a pretty close end IMO.
Good for Sony, finally getting somewhere with the PS3 this year.
VG charts numbers are usually off by a considerable amount, its mostly esitmates, they basically make up their numbersUse NPD and japan media createbut regradeless of the source its close
Great news.

In my disclaimer I explained my sources, I did use NPD and Media Create but they only cover North America and Japan, there is no official numbers for Europe/Others so I was forced to use VgChartz.
I think its gonna remain fairly close in North America, but it will be because of Europe and Japan when Sony wins the holiday.
I think its gonna remain fairly close in North America, but it will be because of Europe and Japan when Sony wins the holiday.
Don't count on Japan right now during the holidays. The 360 has outsold it like the last 4 or 5 weeks in a row.The problem with those numbers is they mean nothing even if the PS3 is selling 2 more million than the 360 each year. It will still end up in last place by next gen. They need to push out even more than those 2 million to have a chance to over come MS lead.

At E3 the lead was 4 million. 2 Years of 2 mill + and PS3 is tied for second.
Your reason for using VGChartz doesn't make any sense. Of course they'd be more accurate in NA and Japan. Since they are better sources in those regions,Europe on the other hand is complete estimates and considerably harder to track.

Now that we are passed that I would expect that unnatural surge to be over and this PS3 will plataue while the 360 experiences a boost since the price has dropped, japan-domination takes hold and amazing system sellers like Gears 2 Fable 2 and Banjo 3 and Star Ocean 4 are dropped. In other words you cannot assume PS3 and 360 will have the same year next year because they likely will not.
[This message was deleted at the request of the original poster]
360 may win in North America this holiday season but the PS3 has Europe and Japan. With WKC releasing in Japan this December the PS3 will take back the lead in Japan this coming months. Eurpope has PS3 LBP bundles and in Australia Sony has some promo where if one buys a PS3 there will be a free copy of LBP. So it's a win for PS3 in Europe, Aus and Japan.

It's been going down every week.
I'd be surprised to see it sell more than the PS3 with the next numbers. They aren't consistent.
What, is it going to outsell it by a 100units next week?
lol

My reason for using VGChartz is because I have no other source for Europe/Other regions.
