Idk..I hope they make a console that's atleast as powerfull as the current 360/Ps3.What route do you think Nintendo will go ...
Idk..I hope they make a console that's atleast as powerfull as the current 360/Ps3.
I'd assume by that time (2011-2012) that would be a minimum standard. is that good enough for you at that point?
Idk..I hope they make a console that's atleast as powerfull as the current 360/Ps3.
Agreed. And I'd hope with their success there would be more and better 3rd party support and games.
Who knows. At this time in the last gen who could have guessed that the PS3 would be dead last?
I'd assume by that time (2011-2012) that would be a minimum standard. is that good enough for you at that point?
I think so. I'm quite satisfied with the Ps3 and 360. No need for extra horsepower imo.
Who knows. At this time in the last gen who could have guessed that the PS3 would be dead last?
Not I. and ''who knows'' doesn't really qualify as an opinion. lol.
The same route they're taking now. Create a cheap, technically inferior and simple looking console with simple games. If you think they're going to do anything different then you need to look at the Wii's hardware sales. They will not compromise that success.
I doubt any of the three will be very inclined to go for raw power again. They'll probably all learn from the Wii and try to be profitable at $300 right away, and establish their advantage in some other area. I wouldn't be happy with this but it would be hard to resist for them after the Wii's success.
Number 2 they will advance their hardware enough to be able to make the 3rd party jump ship and too appease the angy, but i don't think we will see the Nintendo of old. The way they went to the market this time around it's too profitable for them to just say ''screw it let's go back to the old way''.
I'd suspect they'll go a bit more powerful than the 360/PS3, but they're going to try to position it in the same range as they did this generation. $250-300 is a pretty good launch point, so about what technology they can afford with that price per console. What I'm hoping to see from them is more of a Wii remote and normal controller hybrid. That's honestly what I found to be the most inhibiting factor of the Wii this generation from others is the incompatibility or difficult implementation of motion controls with some games, and since they had the Wii remote as the only standard controller, since I'm doubting people want to base a game around an additional $20 controller (Class-ic controller). Perhaps they can either create an amalgamated controller with Wii remote plus traditional, or either include two different types of controllers with the system, and make sure that controllers sold include both bundled in, though they'd have to reduce cost on each controller. Then again, these are just ideas of mine, though I hope they're able to rectify a few of the things other than power that isolated them from some game opportunities to help with their non-first party situation.

The only thing we know is that they started working one the next one after launching the Wii (planing stages obviously), and that they are going HD. Their Research and Development department has spent millions of dollars, most likely on new technology

Its also known that they are researching Holographic Memory, which is pretty surprising since its something very new.Personaly, i think next gen all three consoles will be alot closer tech wise, nintendo will probably launch its WiiHD with slightly better then 360/PS3 hardware. Sony on the other hand wont do another PS3-like console next gen, i see them pushing PS3's life cycle as far as they can to recover the losses and earn some substantial profits. MS will probably be the first to launch the next system but i also dont expect the same leap asthe original Xbox>>360.The Wii's success and Nintendos earnings with a less expensive to produce hardware surely made many heads turn in the Sony and MS offices.
low cost did it for them
cool. personally, I think the next Xbox will be a pretty big leap in gaming potential. as will the PS4. Crysis will be something of a minimum standard, which--as is known by all who have played Crysis--is a pretty new level.
low cost did it for them
will it do it for them again?
low cost did it for them
It wasnt just the low cost. The 360 Arcade is cheaper but the Wii still outsells it by a mile. Its all about image and promotion.
