In my opinion Nintendo are really silly not to bring this game to North America.I loved Earthbound and from what ive played of the imported version of Mother 3, it to is also a very very good rpg.SO does anyone else wish Nintendo would have brought this rpg to North America? Why didnt Nintendo bring Mother 3 over?

They're afraid we might buy it.
They're afraid we might buy it.
Thats the wierd thing to me, i always thought earthbound sold pretty decent here in north america.
From the second I saw Lucas as a character in Smash Bros Brawl I asked myself the same question. It would be nice to actually see the respective game the character came from. Not to mention that EarthBound is one of my favorites games ever made (and that letter at the end had kept me wondering for years upon years)I'd be in line 5 days before it came out, and would threaten my friends under penalty of PK Starstorm if they didn't. Worst case is that they could release it via WiiWare/Virtual Console.
And apparently the game didn't sell too well over here either.EarthBound sells 140k in the US''Sadly, the game tanked in North America, selling roughly 140,000 copies compared to about twice that figure in Japan''
Not a financially sound game. Whatever game has Nintendo on its label sells but Mother 3 doesn't and its a JRPG which requires a lot of finance. Fire Emblem finds great sales with the last one getting around 500,000 so they are remaking those.

I know i bought a copy );
I hope that they will translate it for the VC like they did with Sin and Punishment.
Wow, i really thought earthbound did a little better then that in North America. I know i bought a copy );
Well, I could see some factors being off-putting. It was $70 after all, and the boxart looked odd. Though I know one reason I initially took an interest was that it came in that huge box that included the strategy guide. It seemed so novel to me, plus I actually thought the game looked cool.
it would make since to put it on vc no disk cost or ds cartridge cost i hope they put any of the earthbounds or mothers on vc im still waiting!!!!
I heard somewhere about how they want to be loyal to japan or something so they made it a Japan exclusive
Their too busy selling remote controls and bathroom scales to care about it.
