Which games have you found most impressi ...

Although I play games for the story and the challenge, I also enjoy watching the industry develop and, like many, enjoy games from a technical perspective. Some games really push the boundaries and I was just wondering which games in particular stick in your mind.Deus Ex remains a favourite of mine. The fact that the game gave you so many possible options was pretty much unheard of at the time. Graphically it wasn't fantastic, but it was the first game where I felt I had true freedom.Half-Life 2 - Yeah, I know this game gets way too much praise, but who here wasn't impressed with the physics engine when it first game out? We'd all seen limited physics on other games, by HL2 was one of the first games where you felt you could really manipulate the game world, rather than just watching predetermined animations. What are you thoughts? Any major letdowns?Which games have you found most impressi ...
Uncharted, MGS4 and Gears of war are all very impressive from a technical point of view. They are probably the best looking current gen console games. Also I think the latest Tom Clancy games such as GRAW2 and R6V2 are pretty impressive technically. But the best looking for me is definetly Bioshock, I was blown away by how it combined amazing technical graphics with a beautiful art style. Which games have you found most impressi ...
Assassins Creed. The animations are fantastic and the graphics are the best for any open world game. And theres Crysis, but thats the obvious answer.
Crysis Warhead hands down.
R at chet and Uncharted
Bioshock, call of duty 4,ratchet and clank, metal gear solid4,uncharted and gears of war are all very beutiful games that really impressed me visually.
Obviously Crysis is going to take this thread...
Assassin's Creed had amazing amounts of detail on every single building, with all the little grasping areas on each one.
Also, Crysis and Far Cry 2 look amazing.
Each time they get released, the new tennis and soccer games always look superb for their time as well.
Crysis, and Half-Life 2. The Half-life 2 engine is probably one of, if not, my favorites ever. It's very user-friendly, which means lots of great mods, it runs great on oooooooold computers, and Valve has really kept it up-to-date to compete with other company'.
KillZone 2 probably
Crysis, Gears of War and Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots.
The Witcher never ceases to amaze me with it's day/night and weather cycles, water effects, lighting, and so on. I mean, it doesn't exactly compete with Crysis or anything, but for an RPG running on a very old engine, it's fantastic.
prolly crysis warhead for me
Why even post Crysis pictures. Cmon. We all know what it is and how good it looks. Stop rating yourself by posting Crysis pictures. Every thread is filled with Crysis pics followed by /thread. It is annoying.
Almost any game by Origin Systems, Inc.

Just from a technical perspective, I'd vote Assassin's Creed. The sheer scope of the city itself, and the amount of inhabitants within the city amazes me. Every building is amazing to look at, both the texture work and the modeling is top notch. Animations were also the best Ive seen in any game. The way Altair brushes away bypassers, the manner in which he lose balance, fall and pull himself back over a ledge is unbelievably real. The entire game resonates more attention to detail and polish than any current gen game in my opinion.
GTAIV and Gears of War.
