What makes us gamers?

I've wondering why people play video games either for the story, graphics, or the gameplay.What makes us gamers?
I play for the entertainment. If I want a good story, I can play a game with a deep story. If I want fast paced action, I can play a game with lots of action. If I want a thinking game, I can play a thinking game.I play games to entertain myself depending on my mood at the time.What makes us gamers?
games are about fun what gets your jollies jingeling may differ from i but if you play games for fun you are a gamer
I play for the experience of all 3 but Gameplay and Storyline is more important to me than Graphics.

i live for fun, entertainment, humor, thrill, and the good stuff, and video games just happen to posess all of the qualities
We're gamers because we play games, simple as that. Now you asked what we play games for? Well I play for the gameplay and story. To an extent graphics, but the other day I bought Morrwind and Fable, so graphics are pretty trivial to me.
I play for entertainment. Playing video games is a fun way to pass the time. As for what I look for in games... I'm more worried about a good plot and general fun than graphics.
what makes us gamers is the fact that we enjoy games and play them as a hobby like how some people enjoying playing a sport, we enjoy playing games. I would say story is first in a game then gameplay and then graphics because graphics don't make a good game they just make it prettier, like how makeup makes a woman prettier.:D
Its fun and interactive. If you want a great story, read a book. If you want photo-realism, watch a movie. If you want great ambiance, listen to music. Games, however, are one of the only forms of mainstream entertainment that is not passive, and that to me is the appeal.
challenge is the biggest factor - as im finding out with wipeout HD which is the hardest game ive played in ages. I also play for story and, increasingly, experimentation (LBP and sandbox games).I also like games from a technical perspective. I enjoy seeing how games evolve.
I like games now because they include physics which seems real awsome
Story, gameplay Graphics are a plu, but Ill take downgraded graphics and upgraded story and gameplay
