GTA4 > Saints Row 2 X 10000

I seriously can't see how people liked SR2 better then GTA4. I rented SR2 and returned it for Dead Space quickly( smart move to becase mark my words DS is a freakin sleeper!)Anyways Stillwater feels like a cartoon version of a GTA city( which is bad because GTA is a cartoon version of another city itself). That guy you free from jail who was also in the first game looks like Vanilla Ice. Can I just say it has awful character design?GTA4 deserved it's score in retrospect. I spend every working day in the five boroughs and what someone who was not from around here would miss is that this game fantastically creates a satire of this place. SR is so pale in comparison and I dont understand how anyone could like it better. GTA4 %26gt; Saints Row 2 X 10000
Saying it looks like a cartoon version of a real city as if that's a negative is to show that you really dont ''get'' the whole point of the game. It's meant to be dumb, slapstick, funny and entertaining. It's not going for grit like GTAIV. It's the direction GTA WOULD have gone in had they followed the idea of Vice City rather than going for super realism.GTA4 %26gt; Saints Row 2 X 10000
^^^ Agreed. I enjoyed the first SR more than GTA4 so I suspect the sequel will be even better. Cuz it has teh ZoMbIeZZZZ!1!!
I don't even think anyone is/was hyping SR2how can a knockoff be better than the original?

[/QUOTE]how does the plot and characters make it less realistic? that CAN HAPPEN...i think it more to do with the animations, pyhsics, overall gameplay.
One thing I hated about both SR is the driving which is a large part of the game. The only option is to put the pedal all the way down or the brakes all the way down. Hello using pressure sensitve triggers is WAAAY better for driving because you can hit the gas a little or a lot. Cruise control in SR2 did not fix this problem.I was drawn into GTA4 and could not put it down. SR2 was returned to Blockbuster the same day I got it.
100% agree

WOW i hate these formulas like ''GTA4 > Saints Row 2 X 10000'' kids make up at GS.
2D gta > gta4 + saintrows 2
I disagree, I love both games, but I love SR2 more. I guess it really depends what kind of sandbox game you want.

The SR franchise is zany, over-the-top, and mindless. It knows this, and doesn't try to be anything else. SR2 kept the zany aspects that GTAIV tossed out the window in favor for a darker, grittier feel. Rockstar's decision to take that route turned many gamers off, including me. That's why alot of people find SR2 so much more fun than GTAIV, and therefor, a better game.
If Saints Row 2 has all the fun stuff which GTA IV left out, then IMO its better.
They are two very different types of games, and I appreciate both.

Yes I know SR is meant to be goofy. I just find it so goofy I didnt bother with it. Same thing as Viva Pinata.

It's quite rude to shove words into other people's mouths. We've explained why people find SR2 more fun, and therefor 'better', than GTAIV, but if you still can't understand why, then that's your own personal problem.
I understand exactly why you like it. I just disagree. Why is that so hard for you to comprehend?
