Far Cry 2, (so going to get flamed)

I am sitting here watching the UFC fight on Spike TV and they just were showing a video game commercial. I honestly said to myself 'that looks like a ps2 game' thought it looked like crap and figured it was going to be some low budget xbox 360 game or something and was very surprised at the end when it was actually promoting Far Cry 2. I had seen a trailer for the pc version at gametrailers.com and it looked nice, so not sure if it was the xbox 360 version they showed or if they just cut together some bad sceens but it was kinda ugly. i'm honestly not trying to be a wanker, just speaking the truth, the commercial was terrible
I found the adverts to look very good indeed, especially with an HD source.
I find that more than half of the consolites on here are graphics whores. Why don't all of you just get a gaming PC if you care that much about graphics? lolBut instead I see a million threads about 360 vs PS3 game, which has the better graphics!? debates.
i really want to live in your world.....as much as i dont care about far cry 2.....i would love to have a ps2 capable of producing such graphics :

it's a commercial from an HD source going through regular (im assuming) cable.of course it's going to look like crap.i assure you, far cry 2 is very easy on the eyes.
Itdefinitelywasn't ps2 graphics, but it won't be amazing like the original's were when it came out.That said, I honestly hated the first far cry, story mode, anyway. Multiplayer was fun for a bit. Messing around with everyones created levels was honestly awesome.
I agree w/ you. Far Cry 2 doesn't have anything in the graphics department worth talking about. Its actually sub par in a lot of areas. The gameplay doesn't look like much fun, either. I played the first one (on PC) and I guess I was one of the few that thought it was pretty lame.

Speaking about UFC, the last two fights are the only ones I saw over the internet early, and they were pretty boring.

maybe its just the commercial.Go to youtube and check far cry 2 console gameplay and those all look fine.
Bad marketing, I suppose. All preview videos I've seen look fine graphically. I have been watching streams of people who got it early playing it this week on jtv, and the game honestly doesn't look like alot of fun. Maybe it was just watching a player who wasn't that great at the game, but the mechanics looked really repetitive.

The commercial did look terrible, especially the cutscenes but the other videos I've seen made it look awesome.
