Dead Space - Did you let a few four lett ...

I have been thoroughly enjoying playing the game Dead Space on my PS3 [Got a 360 but I thought that I'd give the trophy thing a try] and man did I let the colorful metaphors fly during the game play! Couldn't help it cause the scare factor is definitly there. I am curious as to how many others were genuinely surprised during the play - and let the metaphors fly?Dead Space - Did you let a few four lett ...
I remember I was looking at something off in the distance and then I turn right and there is a necromorph standing right next to me . I was like ''Where did you come from''. I never got scared while playing though. The game is not scary.Dead Space - Did you let a few four lett ...
I never got scared while playing though. The game is not scary.
Want a cookie?Yeah, there are some freaky parts in this game. So far, I'm up to chapter 7, but I'd say at this point chapter 5 was the scariest. (I won't spoil anything) We'll see if that changes as I continue the game. The way the music cues in right as the necromorphs jump out and all that is really impressive. It makes the game seem like a movie.I really love it, even though it scares the crap outta me sometimes. I keep wanting to go back and play more!

Thanks for the correction.
It's good old fashioned unadelterated scares, and thats just what I was looking for, if you look deeper into the game than just the main part and look for extra audio logs and whatnot you find a very creepy atmosphere.

Ever since I was a kid I loved horror movies. I guess I watched so many I basically became desensitised to the genre (admittedly every-now and then something will make me jump). so I generally rate how good a horror movie/game is by how well it builds tension and an atmosphere. Dead Space is excellent at creating this suspenseful world and I have yet to buy it myself but I will definitely do so once I have brought all the other games on my list.

Thanks, dude, but you didn't have to point it out for everyone. I kind of figured it out on my own.
I got Dead Space on the 360 a few days ago and man I thought that game was scary. I get really jumpy whenever I play a horror game or watch a movie and boy, Dead Space tops it. I thought it wasn't going to be that bad because I can run through RE4 like nothing now and when those first enemies were introduced and you have no weapon, I was panicking so much. Especially at the elevator haha.. Haven't picked up the game since then sadly because I've convinced myself to finish other games instead for a while LOL LOL LOL..
I didn't let out the four letter word out of fear, but I let it out a lot during the game, especially when a Necromorph sneaks up on ya and completely tears you to shreads--off with the arms, then head, then legs! Oh, and when those little Necromorphs jump on ya and leach to ya. Annoying buggers!
Yes, its a great game so far in my opinion. I'm on chapter 7 right now and loving it so far. Definitely has me jumpy and on the edge of my seat.
I've made crude utterances many times while playing this game. Usually during the fast intsense fright moments, but sometimes also from catching a glimpse of what is to come, and saying ''Oh ****!'' There are also the times I'm surrounded and I need to reload but don't have enough time. And seeing as I've been playing with some good headphones, every single piece of sound that is meant to be heard by the player is heard by me. The constant ambient noises keep my on edge most of the time.
OMG i almost pissed myself everytime that invincible one comes after me its redidculous haha
The Irony of the TCs name and the OP is insane.
I'm on chapter 7 also. Chapter 5 was great, and at one point it had my heart racing like i jsut got off a tread mill or something... that chapter was great.
I didn't find the game that scary, still an amazing experience though, however, this game has the shock aspect nailed. Even though, like I said I wasn't scared, I kept getting jumpy shooting at stuff that I thought was a Necro and so forth.Even till the end it would get me good.
I wouldn't call the game scary, but it is disturbing and unnerving at a lot of points. Dead Space is my new favorite game of 08.
